Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Donald Duke, the former governor of Cross River State, and other friends of Wike attended the meeting.

According to the information  obtained by Clariform reporter, Wike and Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s nominee for president, would meet in London later today.

Clariform recalls that there have been growing concerns within the PDP before today’s meeting in London that the conflict between Atiku and Wike may hurt the party’s chances in the 2023 presidential elections.

PDP officials raised concerns over the developing relationship between Wike and the opposition on Wednesday. They described the relationship as worrying.

Top party figures specifically voiced worry over the Monday meeting in London between Wike and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, and two other PDP governors.

The PDP’s leaders are concerned that Wike’s actions as well as those of the governors of Oyo and Benue, Seyi Makinde and Samuel Ortom saying it may hurt the party’s chances of winning the 2023 presidential election.

We gathered that discussions among the PDP hierarchy on Wednesday was dominated by the Wike and Tinubu meeting on Tuesday in the UK.

At the party’s Wadata Plaza headquarters in Wuse, Abuja, on Wednesday, the National Working Committee of the party met with PDP governorship candidates from all 36 states of the country.

Except for the governor of Oyo State, who is currently abroad, all of the PDP’s governor candidates were present at the meeting.
