A British woman who had unlawful canal knowledge of a 15-year-old school boy for over a year, became pregnant for him and had his baby has been convicted and jailed in the United Kingdom.
The sexual relationship between the two is said to have lasted between 2016 to 2017, during which the woman was found to have sexually abused the school boy severally, the court have heard.
One of such sexual encounters, Clariform have learnt was “on a golf course and under a blanket while others were sleeping in the same room”, Yahoo has reported.
The woman named Sarah Campbell of Bootle, Merseyside was said to have continuous drugged her victim with cocaine and cannabis, which was intended as part of her a deliberate plan to turn the boy to her “sexual plaything”.
She was convicted by the Liverpool Crown Court in the United Kingdom for multiple sexual offences against the schoolboy, whom she sexually abused for months before eventually giving birth to his child.
The woman initially tried to flee from justice when she was first sent for trial at the Liverpool Crown Court. Nevertheless, she was still tried and convicted in absentia.
Her defence counsel, Simon Christie, said Campbell was also a victim of abuse herself, but this did not sway the court, which went ahead to ground her conviction. She was jailed for nine and a half years.
The presiding judge, Ian Harris made it clear to Campbell that her sexual exploitation of the schoolboy has robbed him part of his childhood.
Following Campbell`s conviction and sentencing, DS Peter Sloan from Merseyside Police said:
“The atrocious abuse that Campbell carried out not only traumatises victims when it happens, but has a huge impact on their mental wellbeing which can last a lifetime.
“It can also cause irreparable damage to a victim’s faith and trust in adults, which can affect their ability to form trusting relationships.
“The bravery shown by the victim and his family in coming forward and reporting Campbell to police so that that she could be brought to justice means she cannot cause any further harm.”
Consequently, a second case where the same Campbell was also accused of sexual offences against another boy was dropped.
