OSUN DECIDES: The winner of last Saturday`s gubernatorial election in Osun State, and the state`s governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke has been presented with a certificate of return in fulfilment of the provisions of the Electoral Act.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) made this presentation of the certificate of return to the former Senator and now the governor-elect on Wednesday.
The presentation was done at the INEC headquarters in the Osun State capital Osogbo, where Ademola Adeleke and his supporters thronged to revere the moment.
The certificate of return was presented to Adeleke by the INEC National Commissioner, Supervising Osun, Ogun and Oyo states, Prof. Kunle Ajayi,
Similarly, Adeleke`s running mate and the deputy governor-elect, Prince Kola Adewusi also received his certificate of return at the ceremony.
Addressing the public following his victory, Adeleke commended the electoral umpire for the successful conduct of the gubernatorial election.
He also gave his vote of thanks to the good people of Osun State whom he appreciated for trusting him with their votes and electing him to lead the state.

Senator Ademola Adeleke garnered 403,371 votes to defeat the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressive Congress (APC) who received 375,027 votes in the election.
The governor-elect will be inaugurated on the 27th of November, 2022 after the expiration of the tenure of the current governor of the state, whom he defeated in the election.
