The English female football team, the Three Lioness on Sunday won the Europe Woman football Championship for the 1st time in their history.
The Three Lioness playing before an over 87,000 record home fans at the Wembley stadium beat Germany 2-1 to win the 13th Edition of the competition. The English ladies who has been fantastic all through the competition took the lead on the hour mark through Ella Toone.
The Germans to pull back through Lina Magull on the 79th minute, thereby dragging the game into extra time before succumbing to the winning goal from Chloe Kelly 10 minutes remaining of extra time.
On the road to the final at Wembley, the lioness had defeated the Swedish female teams 4-0 in a thrilling semi-final match.
Before beating Sweden to set up an epic final with the Germans, the Three Lioness had a breathtaking 2-1 win against Spain. In all, the lioness scored 20 goals this year and conceded only 2.
The Three Lioness Manager, Sarina Wiegmann won all 12 matches in the tournament and is yet to taste defeat as England Manager.
The English FA has announced a celebration of the Three Lioness at Trafalgar Square in London. The event which will admit 7,000 fans on first come bases will be a free event.
