SCANDAL: A full adult man is dead and his body dumped in the mortuary, after a night with a woman, who is now in police detention, Clariform has learnt. He died in a Lagos motel after spending a night with the lady who he mate online.
The 55-year-old man identified as Abdulwaheed Lamidi died at the City International Motel, Council Bus-Stop, in the Ikotun neighborhood of Lagos State.
Clariform gathered that Lamidi met his 32-year-old partner online, and following several conversations, they decided to start dating. The lovers allegedly decided to meet one-on-one and then the unfortunate death occurred.
According to information our correspondent was able to gather, the lady traveled from her home in another state on Saturday to meet Lamidi at the motel in Lagos State.
We learned that the lovers stayed up all night together in a room. However, on Sunday morning, things changed as the girlfriend abruptly hurried outside to make a rescue call while the lovers were inside the room.
According to our source, when a few hotel staff members rushed inside the room, they discovered Lamidi lying lifeless on the floor.

The who narrated what happened said, “The girl said the man wanted to enter the toilet but slumped and fell on the ground. A doctor that works in a hospital close to the motel was called and when the doctor got to the room, he certified the man dead.
“The girl said she came to Lagos to meet the man as he promised to marry her; she came with some property and had the intention of moving into his house to be his live-in lover.
Instead of going to the man’s house, they went to the hotel and they were in the room when the girl ran out to call for help because the man slumped.”
“So, when people rushed into the room, they found him lying unconscious on the ground. The incident happened around 8.40am on Sunday but the girl arrived from another state on Saturday. The girl said she met the man online and that they had been chatting.”
Police Reaction
The woman was arrested by the police and taken to be questioned while the body of the deceased was taken to a mortuary.
The suspect declined to involve her parents in the investigation, according to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Police Public Relations Officer who confirmed the occurrence.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin said:
“We have contacted the deceased’s family and they have shown up. They are applying to just get their corpse. They said they were not interested in any criminal investigation but the command is still considering their application through its legal department.”
“A decision is yet to be taken, but the corpse has been deposited in a mortuary. The lady is still in our custody and has declined to give us the contact details of her family because she doesn’t want them to know what happened.”
