The Nigerian South East and South South is certainly not having their best days now. For a while now, it has been one bad news after another, as if armed men are competing for attention or looking for how to outdo one another in the business of crime.

A new-armed group whom have identified themselves as the Sea Masters Volunteer Force is now the latest in town. However, unlike those, we have known or had of before now, the new group is threatening the house of God.

In a new video obtained by a Clariform reporter, this criminal group is threatening to ban every church activity from continuing in the South-East region of the Nigeria.

What is their grouse against the house of God?

They claim that the churches are behind the crimes in the region. They have alleged that these churches and their leaders are in conspiracy with Igbo politicians to commit these crimes.

The made this allegation in apparent referral to Governor Wike of River State who they gave as one example of “Evil politicians” in the regions.

KEY FACTS

  • The nearly 3 minutes video made by the criminal group is the first of it`s kind in the South East region of the country.

  • Members of the armed gang in the video were masked and seven in number and the video was shot inside a bush.

  • In the video, the armed gangs also threatened some people the referred to as “Fulani jihadists hiding in Bayelsa or Rivers states” who they vowed to end their operations in the region, while also vowing to “sanitise” the South East region.

NOTABLE QUOTES

“We salute all the volunteer forces in the region: the Niger Delta Volunteer Force, the Avengers, Biafra National Guard, Avier Vipers, the Ekumeku Warriors, Biafran Nations League, Eastern Security Network.

“We greet all volunteers fighting. We advise all freedom fighters to behave well. Let there be no rancour among us.

“We are warning all Fulani jihadists hiding in Bayelsa or Rivers states to leave now or we will move you out by force. The Christian Association of Nigeria, your actions are no longer funny.

“Evil politicians are now working with pastors. Imagine Governor Wike (Nyesom of Rivers State) vomiting rubbish in a church and up till now, no condemnation from any church. If this rubbish persists, we are going to ban all church activities in the east.”
