COMMENTARY
Recall that Liz Truss has earlier Monday been announced as the new leader of the Conservative Party in the UK and inherently the next Prime Minister.
Truss emergence as the leader of the Tories is coming on her victory in the internal election of the party, which followed the July resignation of Boris Johnson. Truss triumphed over former Chancellor of exchequer Rishi Sunak, polling 81,326 votes against Rishi Sunak who scored 60,399 votes.
Apart from congratulating the Tory leader and the people of UK. Nigerian politicians should learn how to run an issue based campaign for elections. Campaign should be a time to show us how you seek to govern.
After your campaign, play within the rules of the game, accept the outcome of a free and fair election. However, if you must reject the results, let it be done within the ambits of the law.
