Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission at the Muritala Muhammad Airport, Lagos State.
Clariform gathered that the speaker was arrested by the anti-graft agency over allegations bordering on forgery and financial crimes.
According to a staff at the Ogun State House Of Assembly who pleaded anonymity, the speaker was arrested on Thursday morning at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, by operatives following a tip-off.
The state house source hinted that Oluomo is currently undergoing grilling in the EFCC custody.
Clariform reports that the speaker have been on the wanted list of the EFCC following his failure to honour the agency’s invitation several times.
He has been accused of conniving with some others to forge signatures and financial documents of the state assembly.
However as at the time of writing this report, attempts to get further information about his arrest from the EFCC failed as the spokesperson for Lagos zonal office, Ayo Oyewole declined calls.
