The spokesman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr Festus Friday evening confirmed that the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, the former governor of Rivers State, Godwill Akpabio and the current governor of Ebonyi State were not validly elected in any lawfully organized primary of the All Progress Congress, APC.

This point was made clear by the INEC spokesman, who also confirmed that those participated in validly organized party primaries, but whose name were not submitted by the APC can approach the Federal High Court for redress.

Clariform reports that INEC earlier on Friday released the names and particulars of the candidates vying for various elective positions at the federal level in the February 2023 general elections.

However, the names of Lawan, Akpabio, Umahi were conspicuously missing in the said list, without explanation on why.

The constituencies these individuals each represent also had no candidate on the INEC published list of candidates.
