Canada has revealed its Immigration Levels Plan, outlining the intake of new permanent residents for the next three years, 2024 to 2026.
The plan maintains current targets with an aim to admit 485,000 new immigrants in 2024 and another one Million before 2026 ending, the government has disclosed.
Subsequently, in both 2025 and 2026, Canada will aim to welcome 500,000 new immigrants each year, mirroring the goals set in the Immigration Levels Plan for 2023-2025.
In 2024, the economic class will see approximately 281,135 immigrants admitted, constituting 58% of the annual target.
By 2026, this number is expected to increase to 301,250 immigrants, comprising 60% of the annual target.
The family class target for 2024 stands at 114,000 immigrants, making up 24% of total admissions. This figure will grow to 118,000 immigrants by 2026, maintaining the same percentage.
Humanitarian admission targets will account for 89,865 immigrants in 2024, constituting around 19% of all admissions, including refugees, protected persons, and those admitted for humanitarian reasons.
By 2026, the target will decrease to 80,832 immigrants, making up 16% of admissions.
The Express Entry target is set at 110,700 permanent resident admissions in 2024, and this number will increase to 117,500 immigrants for each of the years 2025 and 2026.
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) target will be 110,000 immigrants in 2024, rising to 120,000 in 2025, and maintaining the same level in 2026.
Spousal, Partner, and Children sponsorship will account for 82,000 admissions in 2024, and this figure will rise to 84,000 in both 2025 and 2026.
The Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) target is set at 32,000 immigrants in 2024, followed by 34,000 immigrants in each of 2025 and 2026.
Canada offers various immigration programs, including the Federal Skilled Worker (Express Entry), Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Quebec-Selected Skilled Workers Program.
Express Entry, using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), is a popular and speedy way to obtain permanent residency in Canada.
The Express Entry is an online system which the Canadian government uses to receive, arrange, and process applications for skilled workers.
These applications come from all over the world from people who wish to immigrate and enter Canada for permanent residence.
To benefit from these plans, follow these steps:
- Determine Eligibility: Check if you meet the minimum requirements for an Express Entry program.
- Calculate Your Score: After submitting your profile for Express Entry, you’ll be ranked in the pool using the CRS.
- Prepare Your Documents: Gather necessary documents, including passports, language test results, educational credentials, proof of funds, and many other documents relevant in your own case.
- Create Your Profile: Provide detailed information about yourself in your Express Entry profile.
- Receive an Invitation and Apply: Invitations to apply are sent to candidates with the highest scores in the pool. If invited, you’ll have 60 days to submit your application.
