Senator Olujimi loses polling unit to rival APC

The senator representing Ekiti South, Senator Biodun Olujimi lost her polling unit to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the Ekiti State governorship election which took place last Saturday. The senator voted at her ward 07, unit 07, Wesley United Primary School in Ekiti East local government area.

In the final result announced by the INEC Returning Officer, Kayode Adebowale, the Vice Chancellor of University of Ibadan, the rival polled 141 votes against the PDP 110 votes. The Social Democratic Party(SDP) came third with 46 votes.

APC wins Ekiti governorship election

INEC Returning Officer for the Ekiti governorship election has announced final result of the polls within 24 hours of the end of balloting, representing a great fit for the electoral body.

The governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Biodun Oyebanji has won the Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State.

He defeated the candidates of the candidate of the People`s Democratic Party (PDP), Bisi Kolawole, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Segun Oni and 13 other candidates.

Sanusi may run with Peter Obi for the presidency

The Labour Party (LP) flagbearer for the presidential election is living no stone unturned in his quest to make an inroad into the Northern region as he seeks to expand his political influence and chances in the February 2023 election.

A reliable source from the Peter Obi Campaign Organsisation has informed Clariform reporter that talks are ongoing to field Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the former Emir of Kano as Obi`s running mate in the presidential election.

Clariform has also learnt that the consideration of Sanusi at the moment is to prepare for any possible failure or breakdown in the negotiation to bring in the candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Mr Rabiu Kwankwaso as Obi`s running mate.

SDP candidate in Ekiti governorship election reject final result

The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Engr Segun Oni has rejected the victory of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Mr Biodun Oyebanji in the last Saturday Ekiti governorship election.

His campaign organization has also accused INEC of complicity in the election because “because the arrangement of the polling booth and the ballot boxes was awkward.”

In a statement by the campaign organization, the SDP candidate says the result is unacceptable by the party “because it is a travesty of democracy, it is a rape on democracy and clear daylight robbery”.

YIAGA Africa backs INEC official result of Ekiti governorship election

A reputable Civil Society Organisation by the standard of Clariform Media Group, the YIAGA Africa, has backed the official final result of the Ekiti governorship election held on Saturday across the state.

In a statement by the campaign organization, the SDP candidate says the result is unacceptable by the party “because it is a travesty of democracy, it is a rape on democracy and clear daylight robbery”.

However, the YIAGA Africa has come out in support of the results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission`s (INEC) Returning Officer, saying that it reflects the actual result of votes cast at the polling centers.

This position of YIAGA Africa was taking after their internal and independent result verification process. The report of the verification process was released on Sunday.
