Catch-up
Clariform recalls that the news broke last year how a young job seeker Iniobong Umuoren was lured and murdered by the convict, Uduak Akpan.
However, his devilish deed was uncovered because the victim had left the contact of the assumed employer with her friend who after waiting endlessly contacted her family and security agency.
Following the discovery of the heinous crime, there were some outrage about what many saw as the unwillingness of the police to act speedily and professionally to bring Uduak Akpan to justice.
However, with pressure mounting, eventually, the arrest and prosecution of Akpans was made. The arrest led to confession of cases of rape before the convict met his waterloo.
