The police in Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria, Wednesday ordered the immediate arrest of four of it’s own officers who were involved in aiding and abetting land grabbers in the state.

- On the orders of the Rivers State police commissioner, Friday Eboka, men of the police force stormed Cedarwood Estate Rumuahorlu in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Port Harcourt for the arrest.
- The Cedarwood Estate was used as hide out for the four police officers whose identity is yet to be made known as at the time of reporting.
- The officers are said to have repeatedly use the name of senior police officers to intimidate and extort land owners and in some cases completely take such lands.
- The officers were also said to be working in collaboration with land grabbers in Rivers State.
The Arrest Operation
The arrest operation was carried out by different tactical units including the C4i, anti-kidnapping and anti-cultism unit of the Rivere State police.
The various units stormed Cedarwood Estate with at least 20 vehicles where the building suspected to be the hideout of the criminal officers were arrested.
Two of the officers arrested were dressed in police uniforms while the other two and their drivers were arrested in civilian plain clothes.

Clariform reports that in the recent times, the Rumuahorlu area of Port Harcourt has been negatively characterized by activities of land grabbers who have made life unbearable for genuine real estate investors.
The activities of the land grabbers have hampered quite enjoyment and the piece of mind of property owners and even indigenous community people who have had to go to court over land tussles with these land grabbers.
