Takeaway
There has been outrage across the country about Nigerian Government inability to properly fund and equip her military and other security agencies to tackle insecurity.
This is in the face of the worrisome and continuously deploring security situation across the country in the recent times. This has also recently spread to the FCT, leaving no part of the country safe.
There has also been the worry about President Buhari`s government inability to fund development projects, leading to what some experts have referred to as excessive borrowing under the present administration.
Recent report by BudgIT, which was reported by Clariform, indicates that Nigeria is currently spending more in loan repayment than it is actually earning monthly.
With the above in mind, if this revelation is confirmed to be true, then there is reason to wonder how a country like Nigeria could afford the luxury of making such a donations to her neighbouring Niger Republic.
Catch-up
This is not the first time this government would be making donations to Niger Republic.
Clariform recalls that the immediate past minister of transportation had come under criticism for rail project from Kastina to Niger Republic when many states in Nigeria with economic viability are yet to be linked by rail or road.
At the time of the criticism, the President was quoted as saying that many Nigerians has cousins in Maradi and other parts of Niger Republic.
