In a recent revelation, the Department of State Services (DSS) has sounded an alarm regarding alleged plots by certain politicians to orchestrate violent protests against the Federal Government. This disclosure comes as a matter of national security, with the security agency stating that these planned protests are rooted in economic concerns and have the potential to disrupt the nation’s stability.

The DSS has not disclosed the specific identities of the individuals involved in these alleged plots. However, the agency has mentioned its efforts to monitor and identify the ring leaders to prevent any potential disruption.

Furthermore, the DSS has issued a strong advisory to Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, urging them to discourage their students from participating in these protests.

The agency also calls upon parents and guardians to counsel their children against engaging in activities that could jeopardize public peace.

According to the DSS’s Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya:

“The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby informs the public that it has uncovered plans by some elements in parts of the country to stage violent protests in order to discredit the Federal Government and security agencies over sundry socio-economic matters.”

He further emphasizes that those behind these plans will face legal consequences for any actions that threaten national security.

As this situation unfolds, it raises questions about the potential for heightened tensions and the need for robust security measures to ensure public safety.

It is expected that the DSS’s will remain vigilant in monitoring and identifying the alleged plotters a their commitment to maintaining law and order.
