Despite the UK’s shortage of care workers, individuals were forced to pay thousands of pounds, falsely promised visa assistance and accommodation.
One victim, Winnet Mushaninga, shared her harrowing experience of selling her home in South Africa to cover the £6,500 fee demanded by the company.
However, upon arrival in the UK, Mushaninga and her colleagues were left with minimal paid work, resorting to food banks for survival.
These exploitation allegations have sparked outrage, especially as Nigeria grapples with its own challenges in the healthcare sector and general hardship experienced by the populace.
