If election holds today Peter Obi will comfortably secure required 25% victory in 14 states out of the 19 states of the north – Group predicts

“Peter Obi as it stands now will comfortably secure more than the 25% constitutional requirement in 14 states out of the 19 states that formed the northern part of Nigeria while we have the 5 remaining states in the North under steady reinforcement. With God on our side, we shall demystify the mystery responsible for Bad Governance in Nigeria 2023."

WHAT WE KNOW

The Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi will win a simple majority in the February presidential election. This prediction was given by the Conference of Grassroots Ambassadors of the Peter Obi campaign.

The group gave the assurance this Saturday in response to an ongoing propaganda plotted to weaken the chances of the Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi.

The propaganda, which the group responded to, is a counter poll to the one conducted by NOI/ANAP and showed Peter Obi as the winner of the February presidential election.

In a statement this Saturday, the National Coordinator Rt. Hon. Hassan Usman Algungu, National Secretary, Hon. Dr. Gabriel K. Ayodeji and Director of Women Mobilization, Hajiya Nana Tukur, the group said it is aware of the lies been peddled by unscrupulous elements.

NOTABLE QUOTES

In a statement signed, this Saturday, by Rt. Hon. Hassan Usman Algungu ( National Coordinator), Hon Dr Gabriel k Ayodeji (National Secretary) and Hajiya Nana Tukur (Director of Women Mobilisation), the group said:

“It has gotten to our notice of lies being peddled by some unscrupulous elements paid to install uncertainty, fear and discouragement targeted at misleading the general public by alleging that it is impossible for our leader Mr. Peter Obi to secure 25% votes in at least two-thirds of states, as enshrined in the Constitution.

“For us, this amounts to the blatant lie told in the public domain by the same people who know the truth in their hearts that of the three top contenders, Mr. Peter Obi has better chances of winning in more states over and above his counterparts.

“If the sole aim of this propaganda is not pure mischief and an attempt to swindle the public, since this is a political contest targeted at producing a single winner; wouldn’t it have been wiser to rather keep mute knowing your opponent is on a lane of failure?

“Peter Obi has really set the establishment off balance and they know he is closer to victory than them all.

“Hence, the resolve to resort to lies.

We are very confident of his victory because we have done our homework and the result have started trickling in soon it will be very obvious to even the blind that the narrative of ‘structure” and another campaign of calumny have now been overtaken by events.

“Labour Party structure is growing stronger by the day and even at that with other arrangements we’ve put on the ground the party’s effort is but a bonus”.

“We have deliberately and strategically set up committed foot soldiers across every nook and cranny of Nigeria including the Northern part of the country comprising men and women of capacity, capable of delivering.

“Peter Obi as it stands now will comfortably secure more than the 25% constitutional requirement in 14 states out of the 19 states that formed the northern part of Nigeria while we have the 5 remaining states in the North under steady reinforcement. With God on our side, we shall demystify the mystery responsible for Bad Governance in Nigeria 2023.

“To the teaming responsible members of our society and supporters of the OBIdient movement and labour party, we urge you to remain steadfast and resolute in your support for Peter Obi and the new Nigeria project as he remains the only candidate with clear programs and implementation templates to take Nigeria out of this quagmire”.

BACKGROUND

Recall that a poll conducted by NOI/ANAP last week had suggested that Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi will win the 2023 presidential election with 21%, while the APC and PDP scored 13% each and the NNPP of Rabiu Musa Kwakwaso scored 3%.

However, in what looked like a counter poll, the Economic Intelligence Unit had a prediction against Peter Obi. Not surprising, the APC which was quick to quarrel with the NOI/ANAP poll embraced this counter poll.

COMMENTARY

That Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi has become an increasing source of worry to both the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is a testament that he is the guy to beat next February.

Though it may be too early to shout “eureka” the Labour Party is indeed gaining supporters. The support base of the party and it’s presidential candidate Peter Obi is unintentionally being helped by the incumbent APC bad governance, the many questions dogging their presidential candidate and the internal contradictions within the PDP.

Peter Obi’s appeal to the youth is further helped by his consistent call to the young people to take back their country and his prudence while he was governor of Anambra State.

It’s on record that as Governor Anambra State, Peter Obi managed the state resource without borrowing, while salaries and other projects were not interrupted at any time, while many other states were in debt.
