Six supporters of Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, have perished in a car accident in Nassarawa.
The accident that caused the loss of lives of six Kwankwanso supporters happened in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa. when the NNPP presidential party visited the state for a meeting with party stakeholders over the weekend.
According to reports, the accident occurred when the vehicle carrying the supporters of the former governor of Kano state lost control and somersaulted numerous times.
Two accident victims passed away at the hospital, and four people perished at the scene.
Several additional vehicle occupants also suffered various degrees of injuries and are now receiving medical care in an unnamed state government hospital.
However, before heading back to his base, NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso visited the families of the victims and offered his condolences for the tragic event.
In the meantime, Abdullahi Sule, the governor of Nasarawa state, has expressed regret for the untimely passing of NNPP supporters.
He expressed his sympathies to the victims’ families and the party’s top brass for the terrible occurrence.
Gov. Sule also encouraged greater caution as the nation moves closer to another election campaign in a statement released by his chief press secretary, Ibrahim Addra on Tuesday.
He offered a prayer asking God to accept the souls of those who died in the disaster and wished those who were hurt a speedy recovery.
