Nigerian labour unions have announced a plan for one-day mass action across the country to protest the overall situation of things in the country, which has affected its teaming members.
The organized labour union said it would be organizing the protest to call the attention of the Buhari led federal government over worsening situation of things in the country.
Labour added that such areas of major concern are the rising insecurity, industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of universities (ASUU), and the rise and scarcity of petroleum products across the country.
The planned protest is backed by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), two of which the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) have consulted and sold his popular message of “a Nigeria that works.”
Speaking in an event on Thursday organized by the NLC, tagged “Meet The Press”, the NLC president, Ayuba Wabba said, “There will be one day national protest to call the attention of government to resolve this issue immediately”, said the NLC president.
