Nigerian government has resorted to closing schools due to the prevailing insecurity in the country, especially in response to the activities of bandits and terrorists around the country.
This was disclosed on Monday by Nigeria`s ministry of education, which directed the immediate closure of the Federal Government College, Kwali, in the federal capital territory (FCT) over security concers.
This disclosure was contained in a statement issued by Ben Goong, the Director of Press and Public Relations in the ministry of education.
The Director in the statement also confirmed that communities around the said Government College has been breached in the recent times, thereby making it unsafe for the students to remain in the environment.
According to Ben Goong, this order was directly from the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who gave the directive on Monday morning.
The Minister also ordered for immediate beefing up of security around all other federal government colleges nationwide, widely referred to as “unity schools”.
Clariform have also learnt that final year students in the Kwali government collage who are taking their NECO exams will arrange to continue with the exams in other unity schools around the country.
The head of the Federal Government College, Kwali have been instructed to oversee this arrangement.
