Two ministers serving in the government of the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, Sajid Javid and Rishi Sunak have both quit as ministers in the cabinet, which represents a devastating blow to the Prime Minister.
Writing on Twitter Sajid Javid announced his resignation to the public, saying “I have spoken to the prime minister to tender my resignation as secretary of state for health and social care.
“It has been an enormous privilege to serve in this role, but I regret that I can no longer continue in good conscience.”
By this announcement, Sajid Javid officially became a former Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and out of the cabinet of Boris Johnson, who has seen a fierce battle against the continuation of his premiership.
Following the announcement of Javid was also the confirmation of the resignation of Johnson`s Chancellor of Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, who openly supported the Prime Minister during the last vote of no confident, which Boris Johnson narrowly won.
Announcing his resignation as Chancellor Sunak said, “I recognise this may be my last ministerial job, but I believe these standards are worth fighting for and that is why I am resigning.”
